ASUU: FG wan Increase Professors Pay by 35%, Other Workers 23.5%



The Fediral Govimet yesterday don gree say na only 23.5 percent of lecturers salary dem fit increase for all the categories for fediral universities, except for professors wey dem karey their own percent go 35.

This one na wey President Muhammadu Buhari don warn govimet team wey dey follow ASUU tok make dem nor go sign agreement wey govimet nor go fit fulfill.

President still tell the govimet team make dem beg lecturers to go back to work.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, tok for Abuja yesterday wey hin do meeting with pro-chancellors and vice chancellors of fediral universities for wetin govimet don decide to take fit end ASUU strike.

Adamu say afta many meeting with Buhari and the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Labour and Productivity; Communications and Digital economy; and Education join with Director-General of Budget Office and the Chairman of Salaries and Wages Commission, the Draft Agreement wey Nimi Briggs Re-negotiation Team do, dem look am again and increase salary nor go really work with the way the economy of the nation be naw.

He say from now on any allowance wey concern ad-hoc duties of academic and non-academic staff, governing council go pay am the right time to staff.

Adamu still tok yesterday say N150 billion nai dem go give ASUU from 2023 budget to take care of fediral universities for the first half of the year, while N50 billion dem go use am take pay allowance wey dem dey owe lecturers for the first half of the year, this moni too dey come fromĀ  2023 budget.
