INEC don budget N239bn for election materials and presidential run-off for 2023

The Independent National Electoral Commission don talk say dem go spend nothing less than N239.2bn take buy voting materials and motor wen dem go use for the 2023 general election.

This one na according to the 2023 General Election Project Plan wen INEC launch for Abuja on Thursday.

The commission say dem go spend d N239.2bn wen make up 78.44 per cent of their N305bn budget on top 10 critical items when include ballot papers, operational vehicles, ballot boxes, allowances of ad hoc workers, printing of result sheets, plus accreditation devices.

Still for N239.2bn budget na the N27.1bn wen the commission put for corner for possible run-off elections, including the one for the presidential poll.

Dem dey conduct Run-off election if no clear winner no dey for any general election.

One breakdown of the document, 2023 General Election Project Plan, show say the highest single component go be getting accreditation devices when go chop N105.2bn and dis one still make up 34.51 per cent of the total election budget of N305bn.

The allowance for ad hoc workers wen go pass one million people, dey pegged at N23.7bn while dem set aside N23bn for election logistics expenses when include the movement, deployment and retrieval of men and materials for the elections.

INEC go still spend N20.6bn for the printing of ballot papers and N12.7bn take get non-sensitive materials. The commission set aside N9.5bn for the printing of result sheets, N7.8bn to take get ballot boxes and another N5.39bn for the same purpose. The electoral body go still spend N3.9bn take get operational vehicles.
