The wife of legendary singer Innocent Idibia (2Baba), Natasha Osawaru Idibia, has been summoned by the Edo State House of Assembly following some online displays that have been tagged as a shame to the Assembly.
Osawaru, a lawmaker representing the Egor constituency in Edo State, is to appear before the House Ethics and Privileges Committee after viral videos online showed a series of altercations with her husband, 2Baba.
On Tuesday, during plenary, Speaker Blessing Agbebaku condemned Osawaru’s actions, stating that her behavior drags the name of the House into the mud and has caused the Assembly to trend negatively online.
The Speaker made it clear that legislators must uphold decorum at all times; therefore, Osawaru has been given one week to face the committee and respond to concerns about her behavior in the videos.
The controversy stems from an Instagram Live session hosted by Daddy Freeze, where Osawaru and 2Baba were seen in a tense exchange, and another where she was shouting at the singer in a store in London.
