The House of Representatives Committee on Electoral Matters don tell the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) to disqualify candidates for the 2027 general election, when their names no dey for their political parties register.
The chairman of the Committee, Bayo Balogun, say the committee demand dey in line with the recent Supreme Court judgment on the the 2026 Electoral Act, say need dey to enforce Section 77 of the electoral law.
The Committee come tell the electoral Commission to audit candidates of all political parties for the 2027 general election, to dey sure say their names dey for the party registers earlier wen dem submit give INEC, in compliance with Section 77(5).
The committee come still tell INEC to fire down without delay to fully enforce Section 77, subsections 4 to 6, to help monitor political parties and their electoral activities.
