Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday, say he don approve one new salary structure for academic staff of the four state-owned universities effective from August 2026, while that of non-academic staff and other tertiary institutions go take effect from September.
Oborevwori yarn dis one for Asaba during the swearing-in of the newly appointed Auditor-General of the state, Mr Emasogbe Matthew Oghene, and the inauguration of the Governing Councils of the University of Delta, Agbor; Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba; and Southern Delta University, Ozoro.
He say the four state-owned universities dey offer professional courses including medicine, law, nursing and accounting, and he say student enrolment don rise from about 50,000 for 2023 go more than 100,000 for 2026 and the state government still report the enrolment figure for recent education-sector briefings.
