Refinery owners don tell FG to back local refineries, end fuel imports

The Crude Oil Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria CORAN don tell the Federal Government to urgently strengthen the domestic refining industry and reduce the country dependence on imported petroleum products.

The association yarn dis one for one position paper with the title, “Position Paper on the Urgent Need for Strategic Government Intervention to Strengthen Nigeria’s Domestic Refining Industry,” on Thursday where dem for take talk about the recent intervention by United States President Donald Trump for the American refining sector as lesson for Nigeria.

The association say Naija get stronger case for government intervention because local refinery operators dey face foreign-exchange pressures, high borrowing costs, limited access to long-tenor financing, crude supply challenges, not enough infrastructure and high logistics costs.
